IMMANUEL CHURCH INDOOR IN-PERSON & DRIVE-IN WORSHIP SERVICES COVID-19 POLICIES & PROCEDURES

EFFECTIVE MAY 27, 2021

INDOOR IN-PERSON SERVICES

  • Up to 50 persons are permitted in the Main Church Building zone during indoor in-person Worship Services.
  • An additional two people may be present for the purpose of ensuring compliance with COVID-19 Policies and Procedures.
  • Attendees, Staff, and Volunteers will confirm their registration upon arrival and will undergo a COVID-19 Sign and Symptom check and this information will be retained for 30 days for contact tracing purposes as per government guidelines.
  • Upon entry, everyone must sanitize their hands
  • Attendees are permitted to arrive up to 15 minutes in advance of the service to allow ample time to be seated. However, attendees are not to socialize before, during, or after the service.
  • All leaders and participants must wear a face covering and will be seated a minimum of 2m apart from those outside their household.
  • Worship Leaders, readers, and other service leaders must wear face coverings, but may remove the face covering when reading out loud, singing, or praying if there is:
    • A three-meter separation between the worship leader and the other participants, or
    • a physical barrier between the worship leader and any other participants
  • No more than five (5) musicians may sing or play at the service.
  • No one other than a worship leader or a soloist is permitted to sing or chant.
  • No items except single-use containers will be provided during the service.
  • Washrooms have a capacity limit please adhere to these limits and wait for entry a minimum of 2m from others.
  • Attendees must follow all posted signage, and most comply with physical distancing requirements at all times.
  • Staff/volunteers/attendees are to stay home if sick.
  • Staff/volunteers/attendees who become ill while at service should go home immediately and are asked to seek assessment at a COVID-19 Assessment Centre.

DRIVE-IN SERVICES

  • Up to 50 vehicles are permitted on-site for Drive-In events. (walk-ins are not permitted at this time).
  • All drivers must pre-register their vehicle online or by calling the church office in advance of the posted service times.
  • Drivers are to follow the directions of the staff and parking attendants at all times.
  • Attendees, Staff, and Volunteers will confirm their registration and undergo a COVID-19 Sign and Symptom check upon arrival and information will be retained for 30 days for contact tracing purposes as per government guidelines.
  • Cars are permitted to arrive up to 20-30 minutes in advance of the church service to allow ample time for parking. However, attendees are not to socialize outside of their vehicle before, during, or after the service.
  • Attendees must follow all posted signage, and most comply with physical distancing requirements at all times.
  • All attendees must remain in vehicles for the duration of the event.
  • Items are not to be exchanged between vehicles.
  • In the event someone in your vehicle needs to use the washroom, please ensure they wear a mask and sanitize their hands prior to entering the building.
  • Masks must be worn by staff and attendees while at the giving station.
  • Washrooms have a capacity limit please adhere to these limits and wait for entry a minimum of 2m from others.
  • Staff and volunteers will wear masks when within 3m of others or when indoors.
  • Staff/volunteers/attendees are to stay home if sick.
  • Staff/volunteers/attendees who become ill while at the drive-in should go home immediately and are asked to seek assessment at a COVID-19 Assessment Centre.

Cleaning, Sanitization, and Disinfection for Indoor and Drive-in Services

  • Alcohol-based hand sanitizer will be accessible for everyone in attendance.
  • Handwashing sinks will be available in the washrooms and will be cleaned regularly.
  • All contact surfaces will be cleaned with an approved disinfectant between services.
  • Giving debit/credit terminals will be wiped between uses.
  • Staff are to wash or sanitize hands after handling any money, or receipts at the giving station.

Other Information for Drive-In Services:

  • Headlights and brake lights must remain off during the service. (automatic running lights can typically be turned off by applying the emergency brake)
  • Please do not run your car during the service. Place the car in ‘Accessory mode’ to keep your radio available. 
  • Please dress warmly as cars are to remain off while on-site.
  • In the event your car dies, we will have individuals and equipment available onsite to assist you.
  • While socialization is not permitted, there will be church staff and leaders available at a designated station to pray with you onsite at the end of each service.
